PRIME-ARC 300™ WIRES AND ELECTRODES

BUILD UP FOR BALANCING IMPACT AND ABRASION RESISTANCE

Prime-Arc 300 HNW (hard-facing, non-check cracking wire) and HNE (hard-facing, non-check cracking electrode) welding consumables are economical, general purpose, hard-facing alloys that offer a good balance of impact and abrasion resistance.

WHY CHOOSE PRIME-ARC 300™

Can be applied to high-strength, wear-resistant steels

General purpose wear with moderate abrasion resistance and severe impact resistance

Flux system provides a smooth, spatter-free weldment and leaves a clean, oxide-free deposit

Deposits are martensitic and hot forgeable but not readily machinable. Magnetic on carbon and alloy steels with deposits 55-60 HRC. Applied to low carbon steel with deposits 53-55 RC hardness.

Can be used as matrix wire for tungsten impregnation

Can be water quenched to increase hardness

Modified tool steel that can be applied in multiple layers without check-relief cracking

Not suitable for liquid corrosive environments unless applied to corrosion-resistant base

APPLICATIONS

Prime-Arc 300 is designed for use in both metal-to-metal and metal-to-earth applications. It can be applied to carbon, low-carbon, low-alloy, and manganese steels. Applications include metal-to-metal wear, large build-ups, no chromium carbide plates, tough magnetic weld deposit, good for tungsten carbide, drop hammers, conveyors, pulverizers, dredging elements, bucket teeth, trampers, and boring tools.
