Rebuilding buckets demands a combination of world-class materials and engineering.
Tricon Wear Solutions has partnered with ACS Industries to launch a new bucket rebuild program built for the demands of mining and aggregate operations. By combining ACS’s proven bucket designs with Tricon’s Tri-Braze
and Super-C
wear steels, this program restores buckets to a higher standard than traditional rebuilds.
- Rebuilds engineered for real-world wear patterns
- Stronger impact zones using Tri-Braze
- Extreme abrasion protection using Super-C
- Longer maintenance intervals and reduced downtime
- Optional installation of WearVue’s patented visual wear indicators
This partnership brings a smarter, more durable path to keeping your operations productive—exactly where it matters most.
PRESS RELEASE:
Tricon Wear Solutions and ACS Industries Partner to Deliver the World’s Most Durable Buckets for Mining and Aggregate Operations
[Irondale, AL – MARCH 2, 2026] — Tricon Wear Solutions and ACS Industries have announced a joint venture partnership focused on manufacturing and rebuilding excavator and wheel loader buckets for mining and aggregate operations. Through this collaboration, Tricon will supply its proprietary wear materials—Tri‑Braze® and Super‑C®—to support the design and manufacture of ACS products. The intent is to manufacture a product with greater wear capabilities while reducing the overall weight of the bucket. This is vital in the mining and aggregate markets, helping reduce machine stress while increasing productivity. The partnership includes new buckets and ACS’s bucket-rebuild program, designed to reduce downtime, extend service life, and lower total cost of ownership.
ACS, a Strickland MFG company, brings decades of experience designing and rebuilding buckets for abrasive, high-impact environments common in quarrying and mining. Their heavy-duty and Severe Duty Rock bucket designs emphasize structural integrity, replaceable wear components, and compatibility with a wide range of pin-on and coupler systems, making them well-suited for rebuild strategies rather than a full bucket replacement.
Under the partnership, ACS will integrate Tricon wear materials into high-wear and impact zones during bucket manufacturing and rebuilds in its Asbury line of products.
- Tri-Braze® alloy steel is used in structural and impact-loaded areas requiring through-hardness, toughness, and crack resistance.
- Super‑C® chromium carbide overlay plate is installed in zones exposed to severe abrasion, such as floors, heels, sidewalls, and material flow paths.
This material pairing enables both new and rebuilt products to be engineered for how buckets actually wear in service—balancing impact resistance with extreme abrasion protection—rather than relying on a single material throughout.
“For maintenance teams, the goal is predictable wear and fewer unplanned outages,” said Tricon’s Chief Commercial Officer, Anthony Stanley. “This partnership gives customers the confidence that the product will have reduced wear, meaning less downtime and more productivity.”
“ACS has chosen Tricon based on the quality of their products and services to customers. We share a commitment to providing high-quality, durable wear parts for quarry and aggregate operations. Together, we can produce a bucket that is both lighter and more durable, allowing customers to run more efficiently.” Eric Carper, CEO of the wheel loader division of ACS/Asbury, a Strickland company.
For mining and aggregate maintenance directors, the joint offering provides a complete partnership with our customers. When supplying a new bucket, ACS continues to monitor it throughout its life cycle and rebuilds it as needed. Rebuilt buckets are returned to service with reinforced wear zones, extended maintenance intervals, and materials selected specifically for the application and material being handled.
The Tricon–Strickland partnership supports operations looking to:
- Extend bucket life cycles
- Reduce emergency repairs and downtime
- Improve wear predictability in abrasive applications
- Control capital and maintenance spend through rebuild programs
Rebuild services are available for a wide range of excavator and wheel loader bucket configurations used in aggregate pits, quarries, and mining operations.
