Tricon’s Chris Wolfgram shared these pictures with us from his recent trip to help hurricane recovery efforts in Asheville, NC.
Coincidentally, Chris met Dan Lindsey of McAbee Construction who happens to be a TRICON customer also servicing companies in the pulp and paper industry. Dan was heading up the BBQ operation with the support of his company and a friend who owns Mark’s Mart in Northport, AL.
They encountered many areas where people were hemmed in due to bridge and road failures. All were without power. After extensive effort by a team of volunteers in the Lower Flat Creek Rd area of the Broad River Valley, a ford across the river was created to allow UTV access. Chris and his friends were able to cross the river and deliver hot meals, generator fuel, and other supplies to families who will likely be without electricity and reliant on generators for quite some time
These families in remote communities will continue to need fuel, food, water, and other supplies. We often fail to recognize how much time it can take for people to recover from these natural disasters.
